The South West CTEC programme brings employers, colleges and training providers together to tackle real skills challenges across the construction sector. From shaping training content to supporting apprenticeships and showcasing best practice, your involvement helps ensure learners gain the practical experience and confidence needed to succeed from day one on site.

Construction Skills Roadshows & regional events

Employers are explicitly invited to attend the South West CTEC’s regional Construction Skills Roadshows, where they can:

  • Take part in discussions with training providers and colleges on how training can better meet real‑world project needs.
  • Share insights on current and future workforce requirements.

Contribute to shaping the regional training ecosystem and influence the next phase of the South West CTEC programme.

These events are funded by the UK Government and free to attend.

Collaborate on employer-led curriculum & skills planning

Employer engagement and investment lies at the core of the South West CTEC programme Employers are invited to:

  • Help shape curriculum design to ensure learners are “site‑ready” with the skills needed from day one on-site
  • Provide industry input into training content, delivery models and progression pathways.
  • Work alongside South West CTEC staff in workshops, Q&A panels, and targeted sessions to address local skills gaps and sector challenges.
    This employer‑led collaboration is central to the programme’s mission of boosting construction skills provision in response to real employer needs.

Engage as partners in talent development & workforce initiatives

Employers can further contribute by:

  • Showcasing best practice at events (e.g., case studies, keynote inputs, workforce strategies).
  • Participating in parallel workshops designed specifically for employers at South West CTEC events.
  • Supporting apprenticeships, hosting site visits, participating in competitions, or offering co‑delivery opportunities with providers.

These activities feed directly into employer‑provider partnerships that strengthen the regional talent pipeline and workforce readiness.
